For the past six years, the Runnymede International Literary Festival has hosted lectures, readings and workshops in Egham and London. It was as a member of purpureus‘ writing group that I was able to join the roster of performers for the Festival this year and trial a new piece of prose in front of an audience.

This 2013 Festival culminated in a two-day event at the Centre for Creative Collaboration and featured work from writers Doug Cowie, Joe Treasure and William Searle alongside poetry and come-as-you-ares from Robert Hampson, SJ Fowler, Prue Chamberlain, Sophie Robinson, Redell Olsen and Nat Raha. Rapt is a word. It was a grand, formidable day with snow going sideways and transport up-spouting; a great pleasure to be a part of the audience and to contribute to the line-up.
